Nenthead Primary School

Many primary schools have a ‘family feel’, but Nenthead has it more than most. With just twenty children currently on roll, mixed aged learning is very much the order of the day, although the early years’ children are taught separately to those in Year 3 and above.

Local people will say that Nenthead Primary School is very much at the heart of the community; certainly that is how we see it. Parents and families meet up as the beginning and end of each school day. The monthly ‘Community Breakfasts’ are ever popular. We have strong links with the local Church and get involved in and support as many community events as possible.

Not all of our children come from Nenthead, with some Alston and Garrigill families liking the intimate, friendly and secure working environment that a school of our size can offer.
