Samuel King’s School

With just over 70 students on roll, Samuel King’s School is one of the smallest secondary schools in the UK.  As such, it offers a real alternative to the ever growing factory like secondary schools that have mushroomed in recent years.  Our students tell us that they feel safe; they also feel valued and really know that their teachers want them to do well.

Our educational model also impacts positively on academic outcomes.  Students take six options subjects rather than four, and with a core curriculum that includes all three Sciences, Statistics & Maths as well as English Language and Literature, we offer the widest of curriculum choice.

We do not have a sixth form, but have developed excellent links with Colleges and Sixth Forms in Penrith, Carlisle, Hexham, Durham and elsewhere.  We make sure that when all of our students leave us at the age of 16 they are ready to take that next important step and that it is absolutely the right one for them.
