AMF Governing Body Terms of Reference 2020-2021

Membership: All Governors & Clerk

Regularity of Meetings:  Minimum of 3 times a year


Terms of Reference:

  • To agree constitutional matters, including procedures where the Governing Body has discretion
  • To seek to fill vacancies as they arise, directly appointing new Community Governors
  • To hold at least three Governing Body meetings a year
  • To appoint or remove the Chair & Vice Chair
  • To appoint or remove a Clerk to the Governing Body
  • To establish the Committees of the Governing Body and their Terms of Reference
  • To receive minutes of all Committee Meetings held
  • To appoint or remove a Clerk for each Committee
  • To suspend or remove a Governor
  • To decide which functions of the Governing Body will be delegated to committees, groups and individuals, and review these annually
  • To approve the first formal budget plan of the financial year
  • To ensure that the Committees are up to date with the review of school policies and practice.
