YEAR 5/6 CLASS TEACHER – PERMANENT

The Governors of Alston Moor Federation seek to appoint a dedicated and effective year 5/6 teacher for their OFSTED judged ‘good’ and rapidly improving Alston Primary School.

Alston Primary School has approximately 100 children on role and is part of a Federation of three schools. It is co-located with our secondary school, Samuel Kings School, making it a unique, innovative and exciting place to work.

We are looking for someone who:
•      is enthusiastic and highly motivated
•      has excellent subject knowledge
•      is committed to promoting and maintaining high standards

We can offer:
•      pupils who are eager and ready to learn
•      a friendly and supportive staff and senior team

  • schools at the heart of the community with a real sense of cohesion across the age range
  • students and staff come first; we are a supportive organisation that puts people at the centre of what we do
  • an attractive, well-resourced and welcoming school environment

The Year 5/6 teacher role would suit someone who can inspire and motivate students in this crucial stage of their education whilst delivering outstanding lessons.

It is essential that the successful candidate has experience of working with Upper Key Stage 2, and is highly desirable that the teacher has Year 6 SATs experience. Teachers at all stages of their careers are welcome to apply for this role.

The post is a full-time permanent position with a view to starting in September 2020.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and safety of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.

A DBS check is required for this post, as are excellent professional references.

Visits to the school are welcomed. To arrange a visit or request an application pack, please e-mail Pamela Seaton – office@samuelkings.cumbria.sch.uk

Closing date for applications is Monday 27th April 2020.   Interview dates to be confirmed.

We do not want school closure to prevent us from making the right appointment and do not want this to be an obstacle in recruiting.  The interview process may differ from what we would normally do, but more details will follow as further information becomes available from the Government.
