We were really excited to take part in the Library Services for Schools KS1 reading for pleasure challenge “Reading is Super Cool”.

The library service told us that the aim of their challenge was to-

• Motivate us to read regularly and encourage reading for pleasure

• Give us the opportunity and confidence to talk about books and express our own views

• Support our literacy development and comprehension

• Raise the profile of reading in school and at home

We all got given a passport with a different sticker to collect every time we finished a book (6 in total) and then once we had completed our challenge we received a certificate to celebrate our achievements. We really enjoyed sharing a range of new books and loved it when it was time ot take part in our challenge. We are now hoping to take part in the Summer reading challenge too!
