Park Fell

Welcome to Park Fell!

We are lucky to have a pure Reception year group in Park Fell. This allows for a smooth transition from Preschool/Nursery into school, but also from reception into our Year1/2 class. It also supports building the firm foundations that our pupils will need for future learning.

Miss Philipson is the Class Teacher and Mrs Collins is the key Teaching Assistant in class. 

In Reception, we enjoy a range of activities and play to lay the essential foundations for all future learning and growth. These activities take advantage of both our indoor and in our outdoor areas which include a forest school area, shared playground and private play area.

We use specific areas to strengthen skills which include:

• Communication and Language
• Physical Development
• Personal, social and emotional development
• Literacy
• Mathematics
• Understanding the world
• Expressive arts and design

We begin phonics learning early using the Read, Write, Inc scheme, as well as Early Mathematics, which consists of a short adult input followed by practical activities.

In Park Fell, we build important routines into the school day and we work daily on building resilient, respectful, positive, supportive individuals and learners, celebrating every achievement and all progress.

We are always open to communication with home so please do get in touch with any questions you may have. Our main way to communicate with home is through Class DoJo. This is also a great place for you to see what your child has been doing in school each day. Alongside this, we use Tapestry where you are again able to see what your child has been up to, as well as tracking the progress that we are seeing at school.
