
Year 10 looked at the affect of surface area on the rate of diffusion. These pictures show the same volume cubes of pink alkali agar cut up so they have different surface areas. They were then place in acid, which diffuses into the agar and neuralises the alkali making it clear. You can see the largest cube takes longest to change colour as it has the smallest surface to area ratio.
