Year 9 Literacy
Part of our literacy sessions at SKS involve learning and revising subject-specific spellings. This week the focus was DT and year 9 worked in teams to compete for the most correct spellings. Well done year 9.
Romeo and Juliet
Year 8 have been busy translating a scene from Romeo and Juliet between Capulet (Juliet's father) and Juliet. Translating Shakespearean language is a challenging skill, but the students were able to give it a good go and they hopefully now understand the relationship between these characters…
Bataille Navale
Our GCSE French students enjoyed a game of battleships today on the topic of Illness. Battleships can be used as a speaking task in languages, and is a great way to practise pronunciation whilst having fun!
HPV assembly
Students in year 8 had an assembly today led by the School nurse team.
This was very informative and explained to them the reasons behind the HPV vaccine which is happening in school in 4 weeks time.

Year 11 revision in BTEC
As the exam season draws closer, students are working hard in and out of lesson using a variety of methods to help them study for there upcoming exams.

KS3 Pupils Get First Aid Training
All of Key Stage 3 took part in basic First Aid training today, with a focus on life-saving skills. The pupils all had a two-hour workshop across the day, with the vital skills being practised by everyone in Year 7 to Year 9. Thanks to Action Ants for running the sessions.
Instruments of the orchestra
Year 7 have been learning to identify instruments of the orchestra. They used images of instruments around the music room to help them, and they came up with this way of working in the process! Well done year 7!
