Year 7 have begun their swimming module in PE today. Some excellent efforts in both groups. 

Rain forced Pickleball to be postponed today. Year 10 worked hard on a fitness session instead. 

Some really good independent revision happening across school in Year 10. School exams start during the first week back after half term. 

Cricket and Pickleball continue in games on Tuesdays. The wind required the children to do some ‘problem solving’ this afternoon. Great resilience by all. 

Year 9 worked on their high jump skills this morning. Some on the Fosbury Flop, others on the lesser used ‘western roll’. 

Year 7 and Year 8 are doing Pickleball and Cricket now the summer term is here. Some great efforts today. 

An excellent effort from Year 9 in athletics this morning. They worked hard to improve their technique in Discus. 

All of Key Stage 3 took part in basic First Aid training today, with a focus on life-saving skills. The pupils all had a two-hour workshop across the day, with the vital skills being practised by everyone in Year 7 to Year 9. Thanks to Action Ants for running the sessions. 

Today- 27^th January, is Holocaust Memorial Day- the international day which marks the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz- Birkenau, which was the largest Nazi death camp. It is a time for the world to remember the atrocities committed during WW2 and to think about the lives of those people…

Brilliant work from Year 9 on the trampolines this morning. Some pupils perfected their somersaults with others pushing themselves to improve tuck jumps and front drops. 

Year 7 and Year 8 have had a great time doing gymnastics in PE today. Through vaults and trampoline basics were the focus of the lesson. 

Key Stage 4 enjoyed trampolining this morning in PE. Many of the pupils mastered the seat drop, with others progressing further through more complex skills.
