We've had a super fast first half-term and I hope everyone enjoyed the break! Our year started by looking at how maths links to careers and where we can develop valuable skills within the subject to support our future; as well as finding out the amazing range of jobs our students would like to do!
The 2 weeks before half-term 7/8F were focusing on equality and equivalence; understanding fact families, 1-step equations and simplifying algebraic expressions. During the same period 7/8H have focused on multiplying and dividing a range of fractions including; unit fractions, improper fractions, mixed numbers and reciprocals and finishing with algebraic fractions.
After our end of unit assessments we are looking to start our new topics week beginning 10th November 2025; place value and ordering integers and decimals with 7/8F and working in the cartesian plane with 7/8H.
