Our final group of Year 8's had another fantastic day of work experience at Center Parcs Whinfell Forest on Tuesday.
This bespoke opportunity for our KS3 students originated from the Cumbria Careers Hub, who invited us to take part in a new Modern Work Experience Pilot project, managed and co-designed by Lauren Jackson, Employer Engagement Lead, and Center Parcs. This pilot was a new initiative to trial Work Experience with a fresh approach, offering opportunities to all ages from Years 7 to11.
Lauren further supported SKS by assisting in linking us up with a new employer to undertake the project. This support has enabled us to form a new relationship with Center Parcs that we hope will grow and evolve through the years. Lauren is now working with us as a school, the students and the employer, to create a case study and template that other organisations can use as an example of good practice.
