Gymnastics with Carlisle United 

Everyone was focused and engaged and said they can’t wait till next Friday to do gymnastics again!
 

This afternoon Anna read us a story from Winnie The Pooh -
Eeyore needed a new house and Cross Fell was given the task to build him one!

The children showed wonderful creativity, problem solving by working together and showing fantastic teamwork!

Cross fell are making paper Mache hot air balloons. This ties in with the transport topic they are learning. We had allot of fun.

Just before Christmas we each drew a monster to be included in the young writers book ‘Monster Mayhem’. We have received a certificate to mark this achievement and all children will bring a letter home tonight to give permission for their artwork to be published. Well done Cross Fell!

What a fantastic morning we have had at Hexham! We really enjoyed watching the pantomime Red Riding Hood and loved our snack bags in the interval. A huge thankyou to everyone on the PTA and Alston and Garrigill charity for their kind donations to make our trip happen and Ms Reed who organised…

Computing

Wow, we can alter photographs!

Children independently changed their photograph to black and white.

We discussed that images that we see in different places can be altered as well.

Forest School Friday! Today Anna talked to us about campfire safety in our session before we toasted marshmallows. We got to eat them with biscuits. We also got to meet our two new resident chickens!

Computing last week and Cross Fell continued with digital photography. We looked at framing and where to place the thing we want to take a photo of.

Challenged to take a poorly framed photo and then a well framed photo, the children took some fantastic photographs.

This week in art we continued making Christmas decorations and got to see how the laser cutter worked. Thankyou so much to Mrs Wheatley for sharing your expertise with us :-)

What will the plotters do next?

We have so far learnt about who some of the plotters are from The Gunpowder Plot, we know reason why they were not happy and where and how they hid the gunpowder!
