The Year 7 and 8s were excellent in their circuit training session yesterday. The conditions on the field mean that they had to come inside and change activity. They worked really hard on a continuous circuit. 

Year 8 have now come to the end of their 'Reacting to History: Obama to Slavery' scheme of work in History. To summarise their learning, students were set the challenge of creating a visual memorial to the history and legacy of African Americans from slavery to the modern day.

Year 7 have been working hard in Volleyball this morning. Some great communication with each other helping the game flow much better. Keep up the hard work!

What a fun night year 7 had last night at their pyjama party. The afternoon kicked off with games in the school hall, followed by a disco led by various budding DJs and then pizza and chips in Mrs Jones’s catering room. Thank you to year 7 for your enthusiasm and amazing company. 

Year 8 have been exploring hooks and riffs this term. This week, they performed the Eurythmics hit ‘Sweet Dreams’. Some students drummed the steady rhythm on the cajons, others learned the keyboard chords and some sung the melody. Well done year 8! 

Year 9 have been exploring musicals and this week they practised playing the infamous ‘Phantom of the Opera’, learning how to play a chromatic scale and using an organ sound for effect. 

Well done to those who presented their ethos ideas in assembly today. Respect, Resilience and Teamwork! 

Over the past few weeks Year 8 have been learning about Islam, looking at what Muslim's believe and how this impacts their life.

We will follow this topic up by visiting a local mosque later in the year.

Today we road-tested our first 'Jamie Oliver's Ministry of Food' recipe; with the Year 7's cooking spaghetti pasta. They showed fantastic focus throughout and loved tasting the food they had made. Well done everyone, and thank you Jamie!
